The Proof Is in the X-rays
As a follow up to the previous post, "X-RAYS OR NO XRAY FOR SCOLIOSIS?"
I would like to highlight two x-rays we recently have seen within a one week span at Alta-PT.
Without the viewing of these x-rays we would have never known that an 17y.o. teenager could have signs of wedging already. Also without these xrays we would have never expected to see that this teenager and a completely unrelated patient at 50 y.o. both have an additional curve by the lumbar/sacral junction.
Both findings from the x-rays are important to our treatment protocol. We advised all patients to have a recent x-ray scan for review. Today there have been advances in there are units known as EOS scanners that emit 1/10 of the radiation of older machines.
